Read on to learn about our September 2024 Vows that Wow couple, Megan & Jack!
Megan & Jack’s lively wedding was full of elegant details and meaningful touches. The couple shared a few special details with us and Megan (the bride) said she looks back on their wedding day with nothing but a full heart – read on to find out why!
How the Couple Met
Megan & Jack’s love story began in college where they met at the University of Iowa. Jack and Megan both came in the summer as incoming freshman for their respective sports of football and basketball (which they incorporated into some fun photo ops and the dance party of their big day). Their dorm rooms were about 3 doors down and funnily enough, Megan became best friends with his roommate before getting to know Jack. They spent that year as friends getting comfortable in the new adjustment of being division one student athletes before eventually starting to date at the beginning of their sophomore year. The rest is history!
The Campbell Wedding
The day began with Megan and her girls getting ready together, which included getting their makeup done by none other than the incredible Powder Studio. They had everyone looking flawless and the bride feeling her best to walk down the aisle!
Meanwhile, Jack read the sweetest note from Megan that was titled ‘A Letter to My Husband.’ This set the tone perfectly for their gorgeous outdoor ceremony at their church. Honey & Joy Events created a stunning floral arch ceremony backdrop with bright white florals and detailed greenery. Before heading over to the reception, the wedding party had some fun with a few props – a mini basketball hoop, basketball, and a football! With Jack playing football at Iowa and Megan basketball, they had to honor that in some way on their special day.
The fun didn’t stop there – in fact, the whole wedding party rode a rollercoaster (yes, you read that right) before joining their loved ones back at the reception. Once again, Honey & Joy Events welcomed everyone with creative signage and continued the elegance of the day with more floral and greenery decor.
You wouldn’t believe it, but the party really had just begun! JM3 DJs kept everyone grooving all night long, and the energy was off the charts. All the guests were rocking light-up cowboy hats, with the bride’s special one standing out in white and adorned with a little veil. Every song was a hit, and the basketball hoop made a triumphant return. Naturally, the couple seized the chance for a playful one-on-one challenge!
The entire day was shot by the incredible Rachel Jean Photography. She ensured the couple’s love was captured perfectly and in a style that matched exactly what Megan & Jack had in mind. They will always be able to look back on their wedding day in Iowa with full hearts and smiles thanks to these sweet photos.
Megan & Jack’s Favorite Wedding Day Memory
Megan shared, “It’s hard to narrow it down to one favorite memory! I think I’m going to have to write two. The first would be the roller coaster ride with the wedding party. This was truly so much fun! I could not stop smiling and laughing and everyone else said the same thing. It was such a fun part of our day. Aside from the dance floor that truly lasted all night until close, I also have to mention our sparkler exit as one of the favorite parts of the day. I had always dreamed of doing a sparkler exit whenever I thought about my wedding, and it was so fun to see how many people stuck around for it. Overall, I look back at our wedding day with nothing but a full heart and smiles. Jack and I really focused on being super present the whole day and did not feel one ounce of stress! We had the best group of people by our side celebrating us.”
Vendor Shoutout
While all the vendors played a significant role in their day, Megan wanted to give a special shoutout to Honey & Joy Events: “They made the wedding planning process seamless, enjoyable, and stressless. I truly could not recommend them more. Karla has a beautiful eye for design and Sydney is amazing at getting everything coordinated and communicating with other vendors. I am so thankful I chose to work with Honey & Joy Events and would do it over and over again!”
