Each month, we highlight our Vows That Wow to showcase weddings that truly embody love, intention, and unforgettable celebration. This month, we’re excited to feature Kenzie and Kyle’s beautiful wedding, a day filled with romantic details, joyful moments, and a dream team of vendors who brought their vision to life. Set at Gathering Grounds in Bussey, Iowa, their wedding was filled with beautiful florals, timeless details, and personal touches, all set against the peaceful Iowa countryside.
A Bridal Look Made for the Moment
Kenzie’s wedding-day style balanced classic bridal romance with a little bit of fun. She walked down the aisle in a lace gown from Schaffer’s Bridal, featuring a fitted silhouette and an intricate train that looked especially beautiful against the greenery surrounding Gathering Grounds. Soft waves, a flowing veil, and delicate accessories completed the look, while Kyle’s blue suit tied perfectly into the soft blue shades carried throughout the wedding.
The blue-and-green palette appeared from the very beginning in their thoughtfully styled details, from dusty blue ribbon and stationery to personalized green fans engraved with “Kenzie & Kyle 5.23.26.” Monarch Events helped establish that cohesive look through the couple’s invitations, carrying the romantic aesthetic into the wedding day through their signage, décor, and rentals.
Kenzie’s favorite part of the morning, however, had less to do with the details and everything to do with the people beside her. She remembers getting ready with her girls, “dancing around with mimosas and blasting music,” setting the tone for a day that was as joyful as it was beautiful.
Blue Blooms, Greenery + A Gathering Grounds Celebration
Surrounded by mature trees, open green space, and water views, Gathering Grounds provided a naturally beautiful backdrop for Kenzie + Kyle’s celebration. The venue hosted both their ceremony and reception, allowing the couple and their guests to enjoy the property throughout the day. Gathering Grounds was also part of the larger wedding weekend as the location of their rehearsal dinner and provided bartending for the wedding itself.
Against all that greenery, M.Klyn Floral Design brought in a fresh mix of white and blue blooms. Kenzie’s cascading bouquet featured white roses, orchids and other airy blooms accented by soft blue flowers and greenery, with coordinating arrangements appearing throughout the wedding party and reception. The florals were especially meaningful to Kenzie, when asked to choose her favorite or most helpful vendor, she said all of them made the day “perfect, seamless, and special,” but gave M.Klyn Floral a special shoutout for the incredible flowers.
Monarch Events completed the setting with décor, rentals and signage, including a statement seating display welcoming guests to “Kenzie & Kyle” before directing them to their tables. Together, the neutral décor, fresh florals and touches of blue and green created a look that felt elegant while still fitting naturally into the countryside setting.
From First Dance to a Sparkler Send-Off
Once the reception began, Kenzie + Kyle’s celebration was all about having fun with the people they love. They shared their first dance surrounded by cold sparks, with the light-filled reception space at Gathering Grounds and floral-filled tables creating the backdrop for the moment. Even the smaller details carried personality, from their personalized fans to a vintage-inspired “Just Married” cake.
And Kenzie had one more look waiting for the celebration. She traded her lace bridal gown for a two-piece lace mini from Kalon Bridal Studio, pairing it with sneakers for a fun reception-ready change. The couple eventually ended the night running hand-in-hand through a sparkler send-off, the perfect ending to a day filled with just as much energy and joy as Kenzie’s favorite getting-ready moments.
